Go Sports!

I don’t watch or follow any type of sports. It’s just never been my thing, despite wrestling and playing football in high school. I’ve managed to learn the rules and flow of most popular sports from hearing other people discuss them, pop culture, and common sense. Naturally I know a little more about (American) football because I did play for a while. But like I said, I don’t follow football or have a favorite team.

That being said, I actually did stay up this past Sunday and watch the entire Super Bowl for probably the first time in my life. Why? I have no idea. I just felt like doing it. It’s not like I didn’t have other things to watch, or books to read, or that I cared about either of the teams. I just felt like it so I gave in to that feeling.¬†If this were a hero story or an action movie, now would be the time when our¬†protagonist (me) would have an epiphany moment and realize that he was alway meant for gridiron greatness.

<insert training montage with classic rock overture>

Go Sports! But this isn’t an action movie. There was no an epiphany. There was no universal lesson. There was only one man’s decision to stay up too lat
e and eat bad food.

And wear the jersey of a fictional football team.
